Add topicJSTOR account redistribution (The Wikipedia Library)
[edit]Hi - according to our records you received a free account for JSTOR through The Wikipedia Library. Because we’ve used up all of our allocated accounts, and it’s been some time since they were distributed, we want to redistribute any accounts that aren’t being used to users on our waitlist.
If you’re still using, or plan to use, your JSTOR access, no problem! Simply head over to the Library Card platform, log in, and request a renewal of your account. You should be able to do this from your user page, or the JSTOR signup page. If you can’t find the renewal button, or have any other issues or questions about this, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. We’ll begin redistributing inactive accounts in September; if you request renewal after then we will only be able to reactivate your account if we have spots remaining. Get started with the Lua interface to simplify the preparation of modules for translation in MetaWiki
[edit]Greetings!
The Language and Product Localization team has developed a Lua interface to simplify the preparation of Lua modules for translation in the MetaWiki platform. This means that module developers can now use the new Lua interface to load translatable strings, and the translators can translate them in the same translation interface that is used for templates and wiki pages.
This improvement makes it easier for translators to find and edit module strings without dealing with raw Lua code. It helps prevent mistakes that could break the module during translation.
We invite you to watch our demo video and read more about translatable modules to understand how it works. Please give us your feedback on this talk page on how well the Lua interface addresses the challenges in your workflow and how useful it is in module localization tasks. You can also refer to Module:User Wikimedia project, which was recently converted to utilize these messages, for example usage.
Your feedback is important as it will help us evaluate and decide how to continue developing and improving this interface, extend it to other wikis, or change our approach.
Thank you, and we anticipate your honest feedback.

User pages
[edit]Hi. Could you explain why you were creating so many top-level user pages with the same content? Some of them aren't even associated with registered users. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 01:03, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
- @NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh, I created this page for the Women in Religion Usergroup, and created the new pages so that there would be no redlinks for the group's members. I didn't think it was a problem to create user pages for our members, who are all EN-WP editors. If not, please advise what I should do moving forward. For example, should we encourage the users in question to create accounts? Thank you, Figureskatingfan (talk) 04:51, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, I think encouraging them to create their own userpages is the way to go. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 13:31, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
- @NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh, ok we'll work on this. Thanks, Figureskatingfan (talk) 05:11, 16 January 2026 (UTC)
