@Jon Harald Søby in cases like c:Special:Diff/550215418, diffedit should probably not load/attempt to edit if it can't. ~~~~

Preview?[edit]

Ignore this if it isn't technically feasible, but...I love this tool, it saves me so much time when cleaning up a new editor's efforts and makes it practical to save their good edits without reverting the whole thing. The only thing I miss is being able to preview before committing my edit. With more complex diff edits, it isn't always easy to tell from the wikitext view if my change breaks something.
