National Library of Armenia

[edit]

Hello Arshak Shahinyan my name is Gia from Israel. We met in Tbilisi in September 2023. I want to add the National Library of Armenia to VIAF ( https://viaf.org/ ). I'm working with the former head of VIAF - dr. Ahava Cohen on a daily basis. Basically the only thing that needed is to sent list of identifiers of people, places etc. I need person from the library that I can talk to him/her (zoom). It's better somebody that speaks English. Can you help with that? Geagea (talk) 21:39, 20 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thank you for your comment.
Our submission is not a lecture, we submitted it under a problem solver category.
@Antanana M.D. Shahinyan (talk) 18:19, 18 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
M.D. Shahinyan, yes, your original submission was for a problem solver (45 min), but we do have a full programme, and while we are considering the topic of your submission as a valuable one to include in the programme, we can offer only a 30 min slot (lecture) unfortunately. that is why the notification of the acceptance mentions types of the submission, so that speakers would know that they might need to make some needed adjustments. it is up to you to make the session as interactive as you would like within this time limit. i hope it helps! --アンタナナ 19:31, 18 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Get started with the Lua interface to simplify the preparation of modules for translation in MetaWiki

[edit]

Greetings!

The Language and Product Localization team has developed a Lua interface to simplify the preparation of Lua modules for translation in the MetaWiki platform. This means that module developers can now use the new Lua interface to load translatable strings, and the translators can translate them in the same translation interface that is used for templates and wiki pages.

This improvement makes it easier for translators to find and edit module strings without dealing with raw Lua code. It helps prevent mistakes that could break the module during translation.

We invite you to watch our demo video and read more about translatable modules to understand how it works. Please give us your feedback on this talk page on how well the Lua interface addresses the challenges in your workflow and how useful it is in module localization tasks. You can also refer to Module:User Wikimedia project, which was recently converted to utilize these messages, for example usage.

Your feedback is important as it will help us evaluate and decide how to continue developing and improving this interface, extend it to other wikis, or change our approach.

Thank you, and we anticipate your honest feedback.
