This draft makes a hard prohibition on video.

Wikimedia events pride themselves on transparency and accessibility, and video recording increases that.

I recognize that a few people have a need for privacy, but many more people have a need for the content of the meetings.

As a compromise I recommend clearly separating recorded versus non-recorded portions of meetings. For people who want privacy, they should step out of the recorded parts, as they they watch the recording later in private. Recordings themselves are highly valuable and I do not want to encourage an early default of not using this new online video option to record now that we are all experimenting with it. Now that we finally have a reasonable way to get excellent documentation of meetings, let us not abandon that. Blue Rasberry (talk) 18:21, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
