Hi. I can't see that the content in the archive has been on your talk page. Are you copying text from some other wiki? -- Tegel (Talk) 01:37, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, from my talk page on another wiki. Victor Bob (talk) 01:42, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
In addition, could you please tell me where I can save those texts. I just don't want anyone to find those texts on another wiki. Victor Bob (talk) 01:46, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
That is not how you should archive the talk page. You are copying other users contribution without giving attribute according to the license.
From what I can see you are copying text from another users talk page and at the same time deleting the text. Don't remove text from other users talk pages. -- Tegel (Talk) 01:46, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
If I can get his permission, can I transfer those texts? Victor Bob (talk) 01:48, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Why do you want to do that? It is his talk page that he will archive locally when time comes. -- Tegel (Talk) 01:50, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
How many years does it take for those files to be automatically saved as archives? If those are saved as files, how should I search for it? Victor Bob (talk) 01:54, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

You have to ask the user about their archiving policy. Normally users archive content from the talk page to a sub-page once a month or so. It all depends on how much is written on the talk page. But you don't mess around on anyone else's talk page. The search function covers all pages, so it's still searchable. -- Tegel (Talk) 01:58, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

So can I delete all the contents on my talk pages rather than archiving them? Victor Bob (talk) 02:01, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Normally no. It all depends on the local policy on the specific wiki how content on talk pages should be handled. Every wiki is different in that way. -- Tegel (Talk) 02:03, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
OK, thank you so much! By the way, I want to learn more about Brett's talks on his Talk page on Simple English Wiktionary in 2019. Although I can search his talks, I can't open those talks because his Talk page has not any content in 2019 and he seems not to archive those talks in 2019. In this case what should I do? Victor Bob (talk) 02:09, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
One good way forward is to ask the user on the talk page. -- Tegel (Talk) 02:12, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
OK. Victor Bob (talk) 02:13, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
But don't remove content on other users talk page or change your comment after other users have answered. -- Tegel (Talk) 02:30, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
The section I have totally deleted is the section that he did not reply. Victor Bob (talk) 02:34, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is that correct? I see that you edit his comments as well. And just because he didn't reply it's not OK to delete content. -- Tegel (Talk) 02:38, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
His comment contains a dead link and I will update it. The section he has not answered yet is edited by me and I'm afraid I have the right to delete it. Anyway, he is an administrator on Simple English Wiktionary. Victor Bob (talk) 02:51, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Can you link to the Simple English Wiktionary policy where it states that you are allowed to delete content from other users talk page and alter their comment? -- Tegel (Talk) 09:30, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
