WikiGap Challenge
8 March – 8 April, 2020
[Social media: #WikiGap_Challenge]
The goal of WikiGap Challenge is to close the gender gap on Wikipedia. But where to start? There are so many areas with poor coverage, so many women lacking articles. This page gathers some prominent women, who we believe should get a better coverage on Wikipedia.
The list starts with articles giving bonus points. If you create, edit or improve these articles, you will get twice the amount of points in the WikiGap Challenge. The articles have been proposed by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), who will also sponsor a great prize for the winner of the challenge! All of the proposals are important women within the field of human rights, who lack articles, or good articles, on several or all language versions. Let's change that!
Articles yielding bonus points
UN Human Rights helped us identify additional topics, below, which yield more points. Moreover, if you are looking for other inspiration: check out the list of the articles from WikiForHumanRights -- including a new set of articles on Women's Rights Defenders and Related topics.
Do you want to have other ideas on what to edit? Here you can find a set of articles in various areas that lack articles on many language versions. Note however that it is only the articles above that yield bonus points!
