Abstract:
This program is aimed at preserving and showcasing the diverse fabric weaving techniques and traditions practiced across different regions of Ghana. It captured the intricacies of weaving methods, patterns, historical significance, and cultural context while ensuring the documentation and preservation of this unique cultural heritage is preserved for future generations. Different ethnic societies have different Kente styles and patterns but for this particular project the team focused on the Volta region and Ashanti region in Ghana. The team visited some traditional weaving communities namely: Communities (Adanwomase, Bonwire, Ntonso Agotime-Kpetoe) and Ewe Kente Weaving Communities (Agbozume,Tegbi, Denu). |
