Abstract:

This project aims to establish an onboarding program for new Wikimedia affiliate communities. The program will provide support, resources, and training to new communities to help them integrate into the Wikimedia movement and succeed in their activities.

How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region?

Establish: This session will be beneficial to communities in the region in several ways:

• Integration and support: New communities will feel welcomed and supported within the Wikimedia movement, enabling them to integrate more easily and feel connected to the global community.

• Resources and information: Communities will have access to essential information about the Wikimedia Foundation, its policies, and its tools, allowing them to better understand and navigate the Wikimedia ecosystem.

• Knowledge sharing: Communities will be able to share their experiences, learn from established communities, and adopt best practices, which will accelerate their growth and development.

• Collaboration and synergy: The program will foster collaboration between new communities and existing communities, leading to collaborative projects and initiatives that benefit the entire Wikimedia movement.

• Growth and development: By supporting new communities and providing them with the necessary resources, the program will contribute to the growth and development of the Wikimedia movement in the region, expanding its reach and impact.
