| Abstract:
The Wikimedia Ghana User Group covered the African Games 2023 which happened in Accra, Ghana. It was the first time an African affiliate was covering the games for Wikimedia commons. This presentation seeks to highlight majority of the issues that we encountered. This coveerage went on to improve majority of the content around African Athletes on their respective Wikipedia pages. |

| How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region?
The African Games happens every four years and as such with the success or otherwise of our coverage we believe our learnings will be beneficial to other affiliates who are interested in covering similar programs in the future. This can future improve content on Wikimedia commons around the various African athletes. | |||
