  • WJH
    • Frances returns from extended leave and gave update about the journal
    • Outstanding submissions waiting for peer reviews
    • Lots of reluctant academics
    • Potential to integrate post graduate students into peer-reviewing (hoping for 2024 if not 2025)
    • Up to 3 new board members to join in 2024
  • WJS
    • 1 article that is near ready to publish
    • 1 undergoing revision - also willing to write the article in Japanese after English version is accepted
    • Andrew will be busy in February and March
  • WJM
    • Editor-in-chief (Mikael Haggstrom) is stepping back due to workload starting in June
      • Bank account and such will be transferring to Sarah Haggstrom
      • Editor-in-chief position will be posted at a latter date
    • Still outstanding board applications
  • Funding
    • Jack will assist with the funding application
    • Ellen and Jack will arrange to meet with Chris from WMF to discuss grant proposal
    • Chris is away for first 2 weeks of January 2024 - Ellen to meet, Jack to join if timezones allow
      • Highlight importance of publishing being free for anyone (inclusive and empowering) - and integrated into Wikimedia (trusted)
    • Jack and Frances to discuss Wikimedian in Residence
    • Use United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a guide for metrics
    • Integrate the importance of WikiJournals into Commons
    • Explaining the multilingual aspect of WikiJournal - aim to publish in different language (maybe special issue)
  • Inactivity policy
    • Need to remove Humanities editors who have signed in July 2023
    • Ellen to check activity and contact those who appear to be inactive
