The project is made so people can write stories anyone can freely edit. This is made because I personally think that it's important to be able to build off other peoples work.

Alternative names[edit]
I would have called it WikiBooks, except that that's already a thing. Perhaps WikiFiction, or FictionWiki, or StoryWiki. There are many other better names that I probably have never heard of.
Related projects/proposals[edit]
Maybe WikiBooks, though I don't know much about it. It's supposed to be a library but I don't know if it only allows existing stories.

Strong support I saw how the other wikis are non-fiction things that anyone can edit. I think it's time that there is one for fiction. Free knowledge has already been provided by Wikipedia, Wiktionary etc., so anything else that is there solely to provide knowledge will duplicate the scope of existing wikis. - Use automatic translators, and notify interpreters to fix any errors. An interpreter will be someone who has passed a test that anyone can request, proving that they're fluent in multiple languages. The person must have already placed the times when they're available on their talk page. The interpreters who are notified are determined by an algorithm to make sure that said interpreters cover every language and will change depending on time of day and a random variable, to avoid everyone available getting notified about every minor typo fix which will annoy them, and to avoid interpreters being notified when they're unavailable. Strong oppose. Not under the WMF scope. Non-viable project. Fiction inherently lacks a policy framework to distinguish proper edits from improper edits. No viable basis for dispute resolution between editors who disagree on preferred fictional narrative. And a minor footnote, the suggestion of automatic cross-language translation is not a technologically credible option, not now and not in the foreseeable future. - Oh, and spelling error fixing and removing sections inconsistent with the rest of the story will also be exceptions to story-splitting. - Oppose The proposed project does not fit a wiki environment. Writing fiction is an inherently personal process and does not suit community editing, when writing a story I don't think that most people would want other people to be able to come along and change characters/plot points/setting etc. Fixing grammar and syntax is a job for a copy editor, it doesn't require a wiki. I don't think the proposed solution of forking content in response to disputes is viable - you would just end up with dozens and dozens of duplicate pages, and there is no way of resolving these disputes that wouldn't just devolve into some kind of popularity contest. The "automated translation" proposal is not viable - there's a reason that commercial publishers still use manual translation. How is automated translation software supposed to deal with things like metaphors or fictional names?
