Backstory
[edit]Wiki-Niger Delta kick-started in August 2019, this vibrant initiative arose from a collaboration between Team Initiative (TI) and the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria, aiming to empower the youth of the Niger Delta region through digital skills and knowledge sharing. Acknowledging the rich cultural tapestry and diverse narratives within this oil-rich area, the program was designed to engage young participants from the nine states of the Niger Delta—Edo, Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Imo, Abia, and Ondo.
