WHindanger Project coordinator[edit]
During 2021, Whindanger activities will run from April to December, according to the following timeline:
During the period from June to November the project is subject to strict deadlines, and collaboration with 3 partners in countries without Wikimedia affiliates: Afghanistan, Libya and Yemen. Therefore, it is crucial to have a full time coordinator to execute the following tasks:
Tasksː
- Intensive training about Wikimedia projects and events for the 3 partners in countries with no Wikimedia affiliates,
- Follow up and assistance (Wikipedia and Wikidata editing, editathon organizing and monitoring, Upload on Wikimedia Commons, Jury tool usage, etc.)
NB: the 3 countries belong to different time zones
- Coordination for the creation of the different categories, templates, contest pages, and programs on the Dashboard for each country.
- Creation of graphic material and coordination to design culturally sensitive calls for participation (logo, video animations, photos for FB and Instagram, etc.)
- Continuous communication with the participants during the contests, especially in the 3 countries without affiliates
- Assistance of the jury during photo contests.
Duration of work
40 hours/week for 6 months.
Compensation model
Only 50% of the coordination time will be paid. This compensation will enable the selected coordinator to free up their time, while maintining the volunteer aspect of this work.
Who is filling this role?
Selection will be made based on the following criteria:
- Previous experience in leading complexe projects that include several Wikimedia projects
- Previous experience in collaboration with partners outside the movement
- Previous experience in advertizing and communication through social media platforms
- Good skills in terms of : Programs and Events Dashboard , Montage Jury tool, Commons campaigns monitoring
- Good mastery of English and Arabic (to ensure a fluent communication with our partners in Libya, Yemen and Afghanistan)
