Here you can find a number of links and information pertaining to Wikimedia Blog, the Wikimedia Foundation's official blog.

Drafting a post[edit]

YOU! Yes… you reading this page, may draft a post. Anyone can draft a post suggestion. So go ahead, give it a try! :)

Once you have posted a draft, please send an email to the Communications team at the Wikimedia Foundation so they can review the post and prepare it for upload to the blog.

Please be mindful of the posting guidelines, and remember to link pictures from Commons where possible. If you feel comfortable providing a translation in a language other than English, please do so!

Also, please sign your post and list your affiliation (e.g. "Armenian Wikipedia editor" or "Wikisource contributor" or "President, Wikimedia Sverige" etc)

Once a post is edited, the blog team will convert the wikicode into blog HTML.

Comment moderation[edit]

Currently, all comments are held for moderation to prevent spam. Comments must (a) be on-topic (b) be civil in tone (c) contain no personal attacks. Most comments get approved very quickly.

Translations[edit]

We welcome translations of articles for the blog and we often mark articles for translation and send out notifications to volunteer translators. If you prefer to do a first draft in a language other than English, please feel encouraged to do so, but please also include your best translation in English. We can always improve the English translation, but it is helpful to have it as a starting point.

WordPress Theme[edit]

The theme is available for download here from the Wikimedia git repository (the version in this repository is currently a bit behind but will catch up soon).
