Planned activity: Writing contest, open to expert user and new user, of Italian articles on Wikinews. Wikinews in Italian is the smallest Italian wikimedia project and this contest is going to give it a new flow of articles and a new life with fresh new users.

People involved
(e.g. How many people can benefit from the micro grant you request):

There is a big number of aspirant journalist and since now we engaged 13 users (4 new) and we involved some journalist for important Italian journals like Il Mattino and La Repubblica.

Please explain what influence your activity will have on Wikimedia Projects
(e.g. quantitative: number of new pictures uploaded to commons, no of new articles created / qualitative: strengthen the community of german-speaking wikipedia authors etc,):

There is much talk of Wikinews: few articles, few users, project bad party that, as for fresh news and speed can not compete with the giants of the printed paper. We think that, in a world where we see closures, impediments, filters and mispronunciate copyright rights, the solution is openness. Do not close a Wikimedia project that provides its readers with news in CC BY (the only one to do so), but revitalize it, writing news of niche but of quality (concerning the wiki philosophy, information on open source, activities wikimedians around the world, etc.) and involving people. We plan to write at least 50 articles and to involve at least 10 users (including two new users), but the goal is above all to draw the attention of everyone (including us wikimedians) on the potential of the project. We also focus on the quality of the articles written, the jury includes two professional journalists (editors of the newspaper Il Mattino ) who will evaluate the material produced from the typical point of view of the printed paper.

Please provide links to your contributions after your project or activity ended:
Please provide the links to the categories on Wikimedia Commons, to the articles on Wikipedia or any other contributions on Wikimedia projects:

All new articles, categories in the Commons or the Wikidata items created on this occasion will be linked to the contest page: Wikinotizie:Concorso 2018. The metrics (number of participants, numbers of articles written, etc.) will be managed and consulted through the tool Dashboard.

Important: AFTER having submitted your request, please write an eMail to info@wikimedia.ch with your contact details (at least: Name, Surname, Email address)
