The first two quarters of the year started dynamically with a number of activities that were focus on various direction. More specifically:

  • activities targeted towards new contributors
  • planning for rapid grant and annual grant for
  • establishing collaboration with the CEE Hub team
  • applications to participation to meetings with other Wikimedia communities
  • continuing our work on presenting cultural heritage in Albania on Wikimedia Commons and SQ Wikimedia.

Edit-a-Thon about Cold War with PhD. Ylber Mark Done[edit]

  • Description of the activity: In collaboration with PhD Ylber Mark we learned more about Cold War that happend between United States and the Soviet Union and how Albania was affected. We edited and added new articles in Wikipedia.

Meetup, The Albanian House illustrations in Wikimedia Commons Done[edit]

  • Organized by: WCUGA
  • Description of the activity: The young artist Ramiz Maliqati, an artist from Tirana presented his work with illustrations of the traditional buildings of Tirana. UG team members explained to participants and to Ramiz how to create a Wikimedia Commons account and all participants started uploading the illustrations on Wikimedia Commons.

At the same time, we learn to edit through them in Wikimedia commons.

Preliminary meetings with GLAM and Education related institutions (OLD CONTENT[edit]

After the SQ Wikifilmat project, where we collaborated with the Albanian National Center of Films, we have started preliminary meetings to explore potential establishment of collabs with the following entities:
