From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Overall experience

[edit]

I have attended two events which were Ukraine's Cultural Diplomacy Month and WikiGap. As far as I can see, it starts with thorough preparation, including understanding the event's objectives, audience demographics, and any specific requirements or constraints. As a facilitator, having effective communication is essential for conveying information clearly and ensuring participants understand instructions and objectives. As part of that, Wikimedia Events has opened society's eyes where information can be given and added easily. Overall, facilitating events can be both demanding and fulfilling. It requires preparation, communication skills, adaptability, and a genuine passion for engaging with others. Last but not least, facilitating Wikimedia Events contributes to community building within the organization and strengthening connections among participants.

Feedback & improvements for future events

[edit]

Personally, I think the team should add post-event Feedback Mechanisms. For example, implementing post-event surveys or feedback forms to gather input from participants on their overall experience, including areas for improvement, would inform future event planning and ensure ongoing refinement and enhancement of the event experience.

Would you like to attend more events?
