How did you attend Wikimania (virtually or in-person)?

This was my first Wikimania and I attended it virtually via Pheedloop, Zoom & YouTube. And also I attended the in-person event organised by the Wikimedia User Group Uganda at Capital Kitchen in Kampala Uganda

What did you spend the scholarship funds on?

I purchased a mouse for my computer, Data and Headphones

Takeaways – choose 3 specific Wikimania sessions you attended and describe your key take-aways per session.

Digital security session This session helped me understand more about my security and safety online. These included how to create strong passwords. Be careful about the information I share in the different digital spaces and social media. I also learnt that I have to keep good digital habits i.e. regular software updating, being careful on the links I click on while online.

Writing Women into Wiki History: Experiences and Best Practices This session helped me understand more about how the Wikimedia Movement is reducing the Gender gap through its various projects and challenges such as WikiGap. The challenges that came with bridging the gender gap and lessons plus practices that have been created to reduce the gender gap further.

Wikimedian of the Year 2022 This was one of the sessions I early waited for as I wanted to know the people who are being celebrated by the movement and what they have done to win those awards.

How did you connect with other people during Wikimania 2022? How did you celebrate at Wikimania 2022?

I also attended the in-person at Capital Kitchen in Kampala, Uganda where I met different Wikimedians belonging to the Wikimedia User Group Uganda and we celebrated together and also connected. I got to know more projects and challenges that the Wikimedia User Group Uganda does which included Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki loves Earth, Wiki Gap, GLAM,
