Nambogo Catharine How did you attend Wikimania (virtually or in-person)?

I attended the Wikimania 2022 event both virtually (using pheedloop, YouTube, Jitsi Meet and zoom) and an In-person event held in Kampala.

What did you spend the scholarship funds on? I spent the scholarship funds on internet data, transportation to the in-person event in Kampala and on meals.

Getting started with organising Wiki Loves Monuments. This session enlightened more about WLM preparations and i managed to know the basics of preparing it and what to follow and do to have a successfull WLM i.e (knowing the lists of monuments, involvement of a number of parties like NGOs and government as well among other factors.

knowing your right when using copyrighted materials for public good. with copyrighted materials, i got to know on how to use them basically from the Wikicommons without violeting the law of copyright and to also detect compatible images/ content right from the Wiki archives.

community building. This was a session under the guidance of Candy Tricia Kholiwe where i managed to acquire the knowledge of Wiki community building i.e. team work, transparency, skills sharing, social media presence among others and with this knowledge i got to know that i can also participate in the community building.

How did you connect with other people during Wikimania 2022? How did you celebrate at Wikimania 2022?

I connected with the other people during the Wikimania 2022 through the In-person event held Kampala Uganda at Capital Kitchen, through zoom where i managed to have chats with other Wikimanians.

I cerebrated the Wikimania 2022 at Capital Kitchen durin an In-person event where we a number of activities and interactions i.e Wikimania quiz, tea and lunch breaks and the cutting of the Cake and it was all fun thanks to the organisers and Wikimania at large. looking forward to WIKIMANIA 2023
