Wikimedia Kaduna Connect

Wikimedia Kaduna Connect is a part of the Wikimedia Nigeria User Group, formed to serve wikimedians in Kaduna and Nigeria. The group aims to promote the use of Wikimedia projects by residents of Nigeria, and is looking for like-minded individuals who are eager to learn and contribute.

Objective of Wikimedia Kaduna Network[edit]

To promote Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects in Kaduna State.

To improve the quality and quantity of underrepresented Nigerian content on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects.

To use Wikimedia projects as crucial tools for educational learning in Nigeria.

To support the mission of the Wikimedia Foundation.

To support the growth, development, and distribution of free educational materials in Nigeria.

Activities[edit]

Training: the network will be a hub for organizing in - person and online training on wikimedia projects.

Meetups: the hub shall be hosting physical meeting and online in - person meet ups for it's members in order to exchange ideas and also train new members, discuss challenges and way forwards.

Editing Contests: the hub will be organizing editing contests in order to monitors and improve the skills of it's members.

Collobrating: the hub will collobrate with other groups or organizations for the progress of Wikimedia projects

Our first training was done on the 16th of may 2023 celebrating African Librarians Week physical awareness and training among students and staff of federal polytechnic Kaduna.

Wikimedia Kaduna Network was officially launched on 28th September, 2023 by the leadership of Wikimedia User Group Nigerian.
