General Updates[edit]

  • Swip Update

Upcoming Swip event in on the the 7-9 of March in Mpumalanga, as the main trainer. Next Swip event is in Cape Town, Michael will be the main trainer with Jeremiah and Itumeleng.

Administration Update[edit]

Douglas and Bobby, have been in meetings regarding the Wikiindaba, this is all sorroundng the WikiIndaba preparations.

  • Bobby and Douglas worked on the 3 annual year grant. Memebes of the board, if they want to see the link they must ask. Most projects were submitted to run projects in the Chapter.

Wikimania Poland[edit]

  • Chapter mebers who applied, were not approved for the 2024 Wikimania Poland. This is due to Visa policy applications for Africans.
  • This policy is restictive for Africans.
  • The chapter needs to engage with Wikimedia Foundation, on countries, which doesnt allow visa to Africans, or rather they is a lot of scrutiny when it comes to Africans. Suggested by Michael
  • Seconded by Bobby, Ingrid and Nobantu

Chapter Payments[edit]

  • Colleagues reminded on how the payment and tracking system of their hours on projects

  • Stickers
  • Tshirts own budget
  • Tote bags/
  • Pens
  • branded, devices, which can be used by all wit a one branded logo
  • Shupai to get the cost, consult people before sending through final decisions.
  • Afrikaans branded Items (Shupai to consult Deon)
  • Ingrid, would want to have a special design for the Wiki Loves SA logo. She

Upcoming Meet-ups[edit]

  • Cape Town will not be having a meet-up in March, Johannesburg meet-up will take place in March. Will table their finance requirements for the meet-up.

Chapter Credit Card[edit]

  • To be spoken at the next finance meeting.
  • Petty cash needs to be put in place, to avoid. This was agreed upon in last meetings, and needs to be executed.
