Instruction Summary[edit]
The title blacklist is maintained as a system message at MediaWiki:Titleblacklist.
This page consists of regular expressions, each on a separate line, for example:
Foo <autoconfirmed|noedit|errmsg=blacklisted-testpage> [Bb]ar #No one should create article about it
Each entry may also contain optional attributes, enclosed in <>
and divided by |
- autoconfirmed — only non-autoconfirmed users are unable to create/upload/move such pages
- noedit — users are also unable to edit this article
- casesensitive — don't ignore case when checking title for being blacklisted
- errmsg — the name of the message that should be displayed instead of standard
Also, you shouldn't add "^" at the beginning of the entry and "$" at the end. They will be added automatically.
This blacklist is Meta-only and does not affect other wikis. ~Kylu (u|t) 23:29, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
index.php spam[edit]
This is possible a better regex to stop index.php spam?

"plays with blocks" should be account-blacklisted[edit]
All accounts ending with "plays with blocks" are vandalism-only accounts, and therefore this string should be blacklisted. 80.179.192.75 07:20, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Add "Sapianus" to the blacklist[edit]
Since they have threatened to vandalise other Wikimedia projects again, maybe add Sapianus to the blacklist. They were globally locked as Sapianus. Nigos (talk) 12:51, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Thanks! IPad365 (talk) 04:19, 8 October 2019 (UTC) IPad365 (talk) 04:19, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- Not done what are you trying to solve @IPad365:? We barely have any of these, was there a discussion on why this pseudo-protection would be warranted? — xaosflux Talk 20:04, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- ✓ Done because I want it to be blacklisted editnotices because they’re used in system messages. IPad365 (talk) 02:32, 9 October 2019 (UTC)
