Help:URV
Wow, you ARE quick, I must say. Was I about going in the right direction? What about meta:URV in addition to meta:help:URV ? (maybe redirect?) Cheers, 217.226.61.60 21:58, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for this helppage, I think we won't need the redirects, since one can find URV in some days via the fulltextsearch then, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 22:00, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Translation
Selamlar Uğur, could You please have a look at Fundraising_2007/Text_for_sitenotice and update the translation for tr, if You have the time. Thank You very much in advance, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 18:07, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi birdy, i've translated it. it will be better if you check my translation cause some of them are already translated --Ugur Basak 18:08, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thank You very much, the translations were already added by Korg :) Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 19:30, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- Birdy by the way "Hello" to you:)I've been away from Wiki project for 11 months (semi-semi-active). And just turned back by November:)--Ugur Basak 09:34, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Re: terjemahan
Selamat sore (sekarang di Indonesia sudah sore ^^), dan sama-sama!
Good afternoon (it's afternoon now in Indonesia ^^), and you're welcome! ~Rex••talk•• 10:05, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
IP
Looks like it may well be an open proxy per this and definitely per this. Will you redo it - I'll go elsewhere to block? Regards (& good luck!) --Herby talk thyme 13:07, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, looks useful. I have to say I used to think I was quite fast but you are certainly faster! I do wish you well with your latest "request" - I have something written ready to post :) Regards --Herby talk thyme 14:44, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Translation
Thanks for the translation, here are explanations (also, if you are able to make better sentences in English, you are welcome; it is reasonably to assume that more people would be confused): (1) Before June 2004 sr.wiki had small activity (stats). (2) As I assume that stewardship is a duty, I will be a steward only until it is needed. When a number of stewards from Balkans rises, I will resign from the steward position. --Millosh 14:39, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
- Also, you didn't translate that I was a president of Wikimedia Serbia :) --Millosh 14:45, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, you are right. I just realized that I wanted to use past participle, not passive past participle :) --Millosh 14:48, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Danke. Bitte. Und wiederdanken. Hillgentleman 16:15, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
No problems :) --filip ⁂ 19:30, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for corrections
BTW, I should know that the correct form is "Deutsche", but I didn't think about Google translation :) Also, I think that all people who are dealing with cross-language matters should have some basic translations for people who don't know English well. Are you living in Wien? --Millosh 13:32, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the refresh on the Ido translations and sorry for the double work. Cheers, Malafaya 00:48, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Umm...
The image is a screenshot... delete it if you want, but since I took it and again, it is a screenshot I'll leave it to your infinite wisdom to make a determination. I am too lazy to go back and change it.

Bots
Hi, Spacebirdy. I wanted to know if the bot requests are kind of stalled (if you happen to know). I see unattended request that date back to October (one month ago). I added my requests yesterday but I fear a whole month will go by and nothing. Regards, Malafaya 14:53, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your feedback. Malafaya 15:22, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Proxies
Interesting - some were unblocked on en wp (though no longer:)). Are they from Drini's page? And it is looking good so far!! Regards --Herby talk thyme 09:27, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks I appreciate the info. I do pick some up from Drini's work (I check them first too) but I was sure you would have checked whatever you had so I blocked the ones that were not blocked on en wp anyway. Take care --Herby talk thyme 09:40, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- I find the approaches to cross wiki vandalism & the like quite strange really. I am happy to "assume good faith" but when an IP (or a named user) has a record that is not constructive elsewhere I see no reason to wait for bad behaviour and then clean up. The ability to deal with such issues is something I would envy you having as a steward (there are other issues I do not envy you for having to deal with). The one right I would like would be to be able to block open proxies across wikis - it would be so much more productive. Thanks for your work, regards --Herby talk thyme 10:36, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
- Interesting - and you will have seen this too. I think someone more like a developer is needed on this (certainly someone who knows more than me!). It would be very useful, do let me know if you find anything or I can help, thanks --Herby talk thyme 12:08, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Blacklist
I meant to say yesterday but my thanks for your input into the blacklist page. Nick excepted it has felt a little lonely in there mostly (I think A. B. will be back soon). To have someone else's view is so helpful. (and teamwork to me is so important too).
If you have the time could you look at Talk:Spam_blacklist#gportal.hu which I do not know what to do about? Equally I am concerned about Talk:Spam_blacklist#pwinsider.com as well. This was not logged at all so it is hard to see why it should be left on the list (though I do not see the site as that useful and I do not like sites where a further six other sites all wanting scripting access).
Please remember us ordinary people when you are important:) Thanks --Herby talk thyme 12:55, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- I have doubts that you will ever be an "ordinary" bird :) As to learning regex, I picked it up in part through frustration because it was not getting done and via Nick who was very helpful. The en wp black & white lists now look much better too. I do feel for the frustration of those who do not have extended rights when those who do fails to understand how others feel - apologies, one of those days - regards --Herby talk thyme 19:19, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'll try again., sorry I got to work on the blacklist here (& en wp) because conscientious users were requesting help that they were not getting. Sadly I find some admins (& stewards) have forgotten what it is like to need help from someone who, through extra rights, can help. Is that better:)? regards --Herby talk thyme 20:23, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
--LadyInGrey 17:15, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Translation
You're welcome. In fact I should be sorry for coming to translate stuff soooooooo late. As a member of translation team here, I should have done this earlier (well, life is tough & hectic :p). Luckily there are still a few days left before the poll is closing. I hope I can done all the stuff asap, encourage those people on zh projects to vote. --Jérry~雨雨 18:24, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Ha - found it!
The mediawiki deletion info page! Suddenly realised that as it was there it was editable and so did that. I added a wiki link to inclusion policy which is something I like to place. Just thought I should let you know. Gone to do some others now - regards --Herby talk thyme 08:30, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Rename
Thanks for the pointer. As a more experienced 'crat than me can you let me have your views? I see Max & .anaconda "recreate" the old user name and then indef block it (which I have done too). I take it that this is "best practice"? On Commons we have just had an RfA from someone whose old name was "stolen" by a vandal - the process I have used would prevent that I guess. Many thanks --Herby talk thyme 12:53, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for that - I think I will do that anyway. It would be better to remove a block in the future than have an "impostor" vandal I think. Also my thanks for your quiet and thoughtful interventions in recent difficulties, it is the kind of work that makes me extremely confident in your ability in what I hope will be your new role. I am sure you will have found [User:Nekosuki600/Some memos of JA-Wikipedia|this] but I did find it helpful. We may think we are multi-cultural but we may sometimes not behave like that. I have some thoughts which I will share in due course, regards --Herby talk thyme 13:03, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
