Merry Christmas

Hello Herbythyme. Long time no see! Hope that this message find you well. Saw you on RecentChanges doing a good job, as always, and though I should pass by and say hi; and also, given the dates, let me please wish you a very Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones. May God bring you peace, health and happiness to you all. Also, I wish you a happy new 2018 year. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 08:25, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

Thanks MA - appreciated. I've been away for a while including visiting a lovely country which I think you know ;-).
Very best wishes to you too both for Christmas and 2018 - let's hope it is a good year for as many people as possible. Regards of course --Herby talk thyme 11:31, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

Category:Indefblocked Meta users

Hi Herby. I understand that you deleted this category, based on the discussion. But have you realised it's still full of pages? Shouldn't we first get rid of that? Or are you deleting those too now? Trijnsteltalk 14:46, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

I guess the template should be edited to ensure there are no further additions (if it hasn't been). Not sure I'm bothered by a redlink category on pages most people won't look at? --Herby talk thyme 14:52, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
I'm not sure that template has been edited... and I'm not bothered by this either, but it should be fixed nevertheless ihmo. Trijnsteltalk 15:32, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
I see the template has been editted already. Thanks for that. I'd go with deleting those pages altogether instead of just removing the category. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 10:49, 1 January 2018 (UTC)

Company accounts

Hello. I’ve come across a few accounts which have obvious company names and some of them have been blocked elsewhere but they haven’t done any edits at Meta. I thought it might be useful to keep a list of them but wanted your advice about whether there is a page where I should/could list them. I didn’t come across them last week because they don’t have user pages. Cheers. Green Giant (talk) 19:49, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

With apologies@Green Giant:, you posted this the day after I went away for a while. Back again now on and off - do you still need any further info? Cheers --Herby talk thyme 12:45, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
No problem, it wasn’t an urgent issue. I hope all is well with you. I just wondered if anything needs to be done about these accounts, because most of them seem to have visited Meta but not edited. I’m guessing I can just keep a list in my userspace for future reference. Green Giant (talk) 13:12, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
Ooo nice list :). The surprise I guess is that it is quite short! Anyway - now you are one of the "gods" you can do what you like with them...
There was a time when, if an account was blocked on more than one wiki, it would be globally locked without much concern. That said I saw a few locks recently where only one wiki was abused so times change.
Personally I am completely intolerant of any abuse of Wikimedia projects so I might be rather stringent but that is probably why I tend to sink rather than rise.
Certainly worth watching/adding to. If any other thoughts strike me I'll drop you a further note anyway.
Good luck with the new toys. Cheers --Herby talk thyme 14:37, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Set up a local checker Special:Abusefilter/162 to scope what is happening. Chucked together for now, will refine as we go.  — billinghurst sDrewth 23:22, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
