Affiliations Committee/Resolutions/Wikimedians of Ecuador - Liaison approval, September 2015

Whereas:

1. Recognizing Wikimedia User Groups is the responsibility of the Affiliations Committee;
2. Two members of the Affiliations Committee assigned as liaisons to a Wikimedia User Group application may initially approve the application for up to one year;
3. The application of Wikimedians of Ecuador has been reviewed by the Affiliations Committee;
4. The scope of the group, which can be found on their meta page, is "To promote the projects of Wikimedia Foundation inside Ecuador; to promote free knowledge culture in ecuatorian jurisdiction strengthening the digital education and inclusion of comunities and peoples in Ecuador; to develope educative programs for schools and universities of Ecuador involving Wikipedia and its sister projects as main protagonists of the change in digital education; among others."; and
5. It is the opinion of the Affiliations Committee liaisons assigned to this application that the group meets the requirements for Wikimedia User Group status.

Therefore be it

resolved that Wikimedians of Ecuador is recognized as a Wikimedia User Group for a one-year, renewable, period that becomes effective when the Wikimedia User Group agreement is signed.
