CIS-A2K received request from Vaidik Sanshodhan Mandal regarding training in Sanskrit Wiki projects. To introduce the students and researchers to these projects, this orientation session was conducted on 6 September 2018 for 12 participants.

Background

Vaidik Sanshodhan Mandal is reputed research institute under Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (TMV - Autonomous University) in Pune. The institute has taken initiative to digitise rare books as well as content creation in Sanskrit. They have participated in the sessions conducted by A2K.

The institute has rare books and old manuscripts. Sanskrit students and researchers utilise these resources. The orientation session for one such group was organised on 6 September 2018. Around 10 students and faculty attended the session. Nehal Dave, admin of Sanskrit Wikipedia guided the team to work on Wiki projects. Wikisource, Wiktionary and Wikipedia projects were discussed. The students opened their accounts and experienced editing skills.
