Put the pages in my language automatically

  • Problem: In Mediawiki, Meta, and the help pages of Commons and Wikidata have a menu to change the language. The pages are by default in English.
  • Who would benefit: Each user who reads these pages and does not know English.
  • Proposed solution: Redirect automatically all pages in the language selected in the preferences.

  • Support Support But some translations are incomplete or outdated, and may have problems, there should be a reminder always. YFdyh000 (talk) 23:49, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • Comment Comment We don't need this at the moment and a lot of translations are outdated. Maybe only when the translation is completed. --Ján Kepler (talk) 14:31, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  • Weak oppose. We already have MyLanguage special page which can be used for this purpose (e.g. Special:MyLanguage/Help:Help). I don't really like the idea of redirecting from a real page, not a service one. Unless it can be implemented through a gadget that will not be enabled by default. — putnik 18:41, 9 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • Oppose Oppose It appears to me that this feature is already available. For users who want to see content in their local language, they can set it in their preferences. When they click on a link with Special:MyLanguage/ prefix they are automatically redirected to their desired language, if available. H78c67c (talk) 01:41, 10 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
