Date: 2021-10-15

Participants:
Boris Bahire Kabeja, WM Rwanda UG (Mrbobax)
Tore Danielsson, WMSE
Axel Pettersson, WMSE

How do you work with content partnerships today?
Still young UG, setting up partnerships. Building on previous work by earlier UG-work. Working with the Swedish embassy with WikiGap. Using that to explain about the project and setting up a partnership. Setting up a list of needs and what partners can do to fulfill the needs.

What is your normal work process in collaborations with partners?
Approaching potential partners and trying to sell in the movement. Using FOMO to get partners to work together. Always including info about free licenses when talking about collaborations and partnerships. Are you having a work plan for new partners and collaborations? Internal road map for future partnerships, using that as a rough draft for conversations.

What are your desired content partnerships in the future?
Planning to work with unis in the future. Genocide memorial sites in all districts is a potential future partner.

What are your needs for a successful work with partners?
Most partners and institutions in Rwanda lack knowledge about Wikidata. Partnerships could use education in structured data to move on in that area. Better and updated documentation would help. Showcase material and good examples to show impact. Need to build internal capacity before reaching out further. Diversifying knowledge within the UG to offer more to partners. Resources to build up a strong offer to partners.

What does the best support look like for a successful partnership?
Support in training from experienced chapters within the movement in doing uploads and other technical stuff. Learning how to run all parts of projects.
