Goals[edit]

The Dicoado project is designed to be attractive for school activities, especially in French Switzerland.

The current aim is for other people (Vikidian, Wiktionnarist, Wikimedian, young or not so young...) to join Dicoado to make it increasingly useful and fun.

History[edit]

The Dicoado project was started in September 2016 by User:DSwissK inspired by Vikidia.org - the encyclopedia for children.

After that moment, the project started to have over 4,500 words defined.

In order to support the Dicoado community and fight hosting costs, in 2023 the project was migrated to the infrastructure of Wikimedia CH. The server is still managed by the community, plus complimentary on-demand support.
