Grants:IdeaLab/An "Edited by (name)" for registered users plus a diff of the changes done to the page

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki
An "Edited by (name)" for registered users plus a diff of the changes done to the page
if for example i wrote a page about cats and sayd:

Cats are preditors thay like eating mice then someone called FlyEater123(Example Name) changed it to: Cats are nocternal preditors who dont eat mice but rather play with them its a good thing thay do this so the population doesnt explode then the diff wuld look a bit like this: //*EnderNator10* + Cats are preditors thay like eating mice // *FlyEater123* - Cats are preditors thay like eating mice

+ Cats are nocternal preditors who dont eat mice but rather play with them its a good thing thay do this so the population doesnt explode

Project idea

[edit]

What Wikimedia project(s) and specific areas will you be evaluating?

[edit]

Is this project measuring a specific space on a project (e.g. deletion discussions), or the project as a whole?
its for logging the edits mostly for moderators or users who wana revert things

Describe your idea. How might it be implemented?

[edit]

Provide details about the method or process of how you will evaluate your community or collect data. Does your idea involve private or personally identifying information? Take a look at the Privacy Policy for Wikimedia’s guidelines in this area.
maybe use a program like patch for linux to see/compare the two diffrend files then add the usersnames of the origenal author and editor

Are there experienced Wikimedians who can help implement this project?

[edit]

If applicable, please list groups or usernames of individuals who you can work with on this project, and what kind of work they will do.
Me and the ones hosting this site but others are welcome to ^_^

How will you know if this project is successful? What are some outcomes that you can share after the project is completed?

[edit]

i recieve a email or a notification on wikipeida to help and/or that the project sucsessfully whas created

How would your measurement idea help your community make better decisions?

[edit]

After you are finished measuring or evaluating your Wikimedia project, how do you expect that information to be used to benefit the project?
it makes it easy to see who did what and what changed so if a troll edits a page to display "U all nerds" or writes false, racist or otherwise not welcome content in it

Do you think you can implement this idea? What support do you need?

[edit]

Do you need people with specific skills to complete this idea? Are there any financial needs for this project? If you can’t implement this project, can you scale down your project so it is doable?
leme use google also i am not gona work fulltime on wikipedia and i need source code of the underlaying code(i do think wikiepdia is open source so that wont be a issue)
