What Wikimedia project(s) and specific areas will you be evaluating?
Is this project measuring a specific space on a project (e.g. deletion discussions), or the project as a whole?
Describe your idea. How might it be implemented?
add graphs and charts to the "about" page of each page, to illustrate the diversity of contributions and conflict resolutions over time
Are there experienced Wikimedians who can help implement this project?
If applicable, please list groups or usernames of individuals who you can work with on this project, and what kind of work they will do.
increased engagement on the stats page, ideally micro-engagements to "like" contributions and stuff to encourage contributors by essentially saying "thanks for your hard work!"
How would your measurement idea help your community make better decisions?
After you are finished measuring or evaluating your Wikimedia project, how do you expect that information to be used to benefit the project?
gamification of contribution stats might increase number of contributors, which would improve the overall knowledge base of wikipedia
Do you think you can implement this idea? What support do you need?
Do you need people with specific skills to complete this idea? Are there any financial needs for this project? If you can’t implement this project, can you scale down your project so it is doable?
I can design the stuff and provide sketches and high fidelity designs so we can measure whether or not the dev community might be interested in helping to develop it
About the idea creator
I'm a Product Designer, love making software better, and wish the best for wikimedia and hope it continues to improve itself over the years!
- Project manager I'm software developer by profession. I would like to be a part of project management - to listen the usage - and collaborate with fellow wikimedians to make it better than before. Cheers ! Rajasuba (talk) 08:30, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
- Interesting idea. I would perhaps recommend to prepare the data on the server side to avoid jumpy UI. Gryllida 01:12, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
- Support Very interesting! Harshrathod50 (talk) 06:55, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
