Grants:IdeaLab/Wikipedia India Chapter

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki
Wikipedia India Chapter
For promoting Wikipedia, One of the ways might be: Creating chapters all across 29 States and 7 Union territories(Rather than only India Chapter). These chapters can be further extended to 707 Districts of India. Joining these chapters will be free for everyone and can be in English, Hindi and in regional language. These chapters will help everyone to create awareness about Wikipedia as well as they can contribute articles on regional and interesting topics. This process might incur the cost to Wikipedia, but as a part of Long Term strategy, Wikipedia needs to go this way. These chapters will be joined by schools and colleges and will help us to create awareness about Wikipedia.Since India is a big country and is equal to many other countries combined so we need to go in niche level.

If you’re not certain about how to respond to this question when starting your idea, you do not need to answer it right now. Campaign participants and Wikimedia Foundation staff can help you consider some options.
No one can guarantee the success but with a strong determination, good strategy along with perfect execution will increase the chances of success.

Do you think you can implement this idea? What support do you need?[edit]

Do you need people with specific skills or resources to complete this idea? Are there any financial needs for this project? Do you need advising from Wikimedia Foundation staff?
Yes, I can implement this idea! I will need little fund for starting the chapter and its office as well as an Official letter which can affiliate me with the Wikipedia team in each and every state and after that on the district level.
