Grants:IdeaLab/You Are Fake News
What Wikimedia project(s) and specific areas will you be evaluating?
Is this project measuring a specific space on a project (e.g. deletion discussions), or the project as a whole?
I will be evaluating the use of pejoratives on the locked pages of political pundits, the absence of _credible_ citation and the application of logical fallacy by "established" editors.
Describe your idea. How might it be implemented?
This would be implemented through a process called 'being a f--king adult' and refusing to allow your personal political slants to get in the way of your (already wounded) reputation as a source.
Are there experienced Wikimedians who can help implement this project?
If applicable, please list groups or usernames of individuals who you can work with on this project, and what kind of work they will do.
Is there anyone left with the sense to separate their political attitudes from factual content?
I'll know this project has been successful when Wikipedia still exists in a decade with even the slightest amount of respect. Unfortunately, it's already too late for that in academia; you blew that opportunity years ago.
How would your measurement idea help your community make better decisions?
After you are finished measuring or evaluating your Wikimedia project, how do you expect that information to be used to benefit the project?
Critical thinking standards? I'll let you go look it up and you can tell me how it would help.
Do you think you can implement this idea? What support do you need?
Do you need people with specific skills to complete this idea? Are there any financial needs for this project? If you can’t implement this project, can you scale down your project so it is doable?
In order for this idea to be implemented, this suggestion would need to be communicated to Wikimedia's upper management. Also, if large grants have been received from particularly politically-biased donors, with the stipulation that some biased editing of Wikipedia's content will be allowed, that activity would need to come to an end. Any other form of political pressure that has been applied in exchange for an absence of criticality will also need to stop; it's not adherent to the organization's ethical code.
About the idea creator
MBA-Management, MIT, extraordinarily disappointed in your newly-acquired, selectively applied, ignorance of standards for critical thinking.
