Grants:IdeaLab/advertisment of wikipedia in india

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki
advertisment of wikipedia in india
in India television is more popular in grown up(30+) women and men so advertise it to tell people that Wikipedia is a great source of knowledge so that they will start using Wikipedia at least start searching about Wikipedia in internet and once they find it useful they will automatically spread the awareness among the other grown ups while the people(below 30) are mostly aware and those who are not will see the advertisement as television is popular among all the generation and get to know about Wikipedia. Audience

[edit]

Who are the people you want to introduce Wikipedia to?

[edit]

Try to be as specific as possible about this group.
common people of India

In what languages do they search for information, online or otherwise?

[edit]

people below thirty mostly search in English but above thirty mostly search in Hindi

In what ways does this group communicate with each other?

[edit]

This can include services and apps in social media, mailing lists, physical spaces like conferences or lectures, or at specific institutions like at a library.
people below thirty use mostly Facebook or Whtsapp but above 30 peoples mostly call each other to communicate otherwise whtsapp and after that facebook the other communication applications are not much popular in them

What are some reasons this group would use Wikipedia? How would they benefit from it, or what would they find useful?

[edit]

Think about what they would be interested in reading and learning about; does Wikipedia provide better access to information this group cares about?
in India mostly people use you tube for acquiring any kind of knowledge but Wikipedia is more reliable than you tube that the advertisement should tell people that Wikipedia is most reliable source of knowledge.
