Include the total FTE of staff and contractors during the proposal period. If you have short-term contractors or staff, please include their FTEs with the terms separately.
- Hiring two full-time staff at Wikimedia Rwanda translates to approximately # 1.92 FTEs based on annual working hours
annual working hours per staff member:
Daily hours = 8 hours/day
- Annual working days = 250 days/year
- Annual working hours = 2000 hours/year
Total annual working hours for both staff members:
- 2 staff * 2000 hours/staff/year = 4000 hours/year
Hence, total annual working hours to FTEs:
- FTEs = 4000 hours/year / 2080 hours/year ≈ 1.92 FTEs
Therefore, the General Support Fund would cover approximately 1.92 FTEs for Wikimedia Rwanda for the 12 months.
- 19.3. Describe any staff or contractor changes compared to the current year / ongoing General Support Fund if any. (required only for returning grantees)
- We're happy to report that we're not planning any major staff departures for the upcoming year. However, due to the expansion of our outreach program, we intend to make some adjustments to roles and responsibilities to optimize our team structure.
Here's a breakdown of the planned changes:
Modified: Community Quality Growth and Project Coordinator (full-time)

- Recruit new volunteers.
- Monitor the quality and accuracy of content generated on Kinyarwanda Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects.
Modified Position: Assistant Community Quality Growth and Project Coordinator (part-time, new title)
- Existing responsibilities will be adjusted to complement the new Coordinator role.
Overall Staffing Adjustments:
- We will maintain a two-person full-time staff (Executive Director and Community Quality Growth and Project Coordinator).
- Other roles will transition to part-time arrangements.
Contractor Engagement: We plan to hire a consultant (part-time) to support the development of our 5 years -Strategic Plan.
Benefits of these Changes:
This revised structure will allow us to:
- Expand Outreach: The dedicated Community Quality Growth and Project Coordinator role will ensure effective management of our expanded outreach program.
- Enhance Efficiency: A clearer division of responsibilities will streamline workflows and improve overall team productivity.
- Maintain Quality: Continued focus on content quality will be ensured through the Coordinator's responsibilities.
