1. Describe the implemented activities and results achieved. Additionally, share which approaches were most effective in supporting you to achieve the results. (required)

Our activities achieved notable success through the effective implementation of strategies, including:

1. AWARENESS CREATION: Conducting a one-day on-site awareness campaign a week prior to the event, we covered the university premises. Our scheduled meetings with the Deans of the relevant faculties were successful, obtaining their approval for the event. Additionally, we disseminated event details through posters and flyers on university online communication platforms, including Whatsapp and Telegram groups.
2. MANAGING IP BLOCKS: To mitigate the risk of IP blocks, we engaged with an experienced Wikimedian (user:Hakamal) who facilitated the creation of accounts for the 50 new participants. This precautionary measure was taken several days before the event.
3. HYBRID EDITATHON TRAININGS: We conducted a physical and online edit-a-thon trainings for participants on Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia commons respectively which spanned a period of two months. Online participation was for participants who could not participate physically.
4. USE OF EXPERIENCED WIKIMEDIANS: There were volunteer experienced editors at the event to assist new editors during the training.
5. TRAINING PARTICIPANTS IN GROUPS: We split participants into groups during the training to make training & learning process more efficient. We maintained Friendly Space and UCoC Policies.
6. USE OF RELEVANT TOOLS: We made us of Dashboard and XTool to track contributions during the event period and during the contest.

Part 2: Learning[edit]

4. In your application, you outlined some learning questions. What did you learn from these learning questions when you implemented your project? How do you hope to use this learnings in the future? You can recall these learning questions below. (required)

You can recall these learning questions below: Considering this is my first fund proposal, this project will increase my Wikimedia experience and exposure and provide the needed avenue for me to be able to impact young people like myself to also begin their Wikimedia journey to help contribute to quality information creation for the future. A project of this sort brings people of diverse abilities and backgrounds together. I hope to connect with participants in a positive way in order that we can imbibe each other’s expertise.

In reflecting on the learning questions outlined in our application, we have gleaned valuable insights that have enriched our understanding and experience in implementing this project. As a first-time fund proposal initiator, embarking on this project has not only expanded our familiarity with Wikimedia endeavors but has also provided a platform for us to impart knowledge and inspire other young individuals to embark on their own Wikimedia journeys. Through this project, we witnessed a firsthand transformative power of collaboration and inclusivity. Bringing together individuals with diverse abilities and backgrounds has not only fostered a sense of community but has also facilitated the exchange of expertise and ideas. Engaging with participants in a positive and constructive manner has allowed us to leverage each other's strengths, ultimately enhancing the collective impact of our efforts. Moving forward, We aim to leverage the learnings garnered from this project to inform and guide future initiatives. The experiences gained in navigating the intricacies of Wikimedia projects and fostering collaborative partnerships will serve as valuable resources in our endeavors to further promote knowledge sharing and contribute to quality information creation. We are eager to continue nurturing a culture of inclusivity, learning, and collaboration, with the ultimate goal of making a meaningful and lasting impact within the Wikimedia community and beyond.

5. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences? (required)

The project period coincided with the university's holiday period. This occasioned me and my team organizing the training workshops during the vacation. Inasmuch as it became tedious getting a large number of participants, this otherwise setback propelled us to work extra and made us connect closely with the first few participants or trainees. it has become clear that we need to do further background checks before settling on a particular date for embarking on future projects.

6. What is your plan to share your project learnings and results with other community members? If you have already done it, describe how. (required)

First of all we intend to write a comprehensive report on the whole project, its execution strategies, the corresponding outcomes as well as the lapses therein. Afterwards, there will be an online meeting via zoom during which a detailed discussion will be held on the results of the project with a focus on how to make future project outcomes better. Possibly, opportunity will be given to trainess (otherwise known as new members) to give testimonies of their experiences and possibly proffer useful suggestions.
