As a female contributor and organizer of two successful projects advocating Wikimedia projects to women and leading them in carrying out hybrid trainings/edit-a-thons which results in the creation of over 2000 contents across four (4) Wikipedia language versions plus Wikidata and Commons and also recruited over 60 female contributors from northern Nigeria, a region where Wikimedia needs more advocacy and awareness among women as there was little to no knowledge about Wiki projects just as how it can clearly noted by everyone that there's a huge gender gap difference between male and female contributors/volunteers across Wikimedia projects from northern Nigeria. This problem has been my concern for a long time, and the reason behind this motive to organize this event in a bid to change this narrative in Fulfulde Wikipedia and Fulfulde editors because like several other small Wikis, Fulfulde Wikipedia suffers lack of coverage in terms of gender gap ranging from female contributors to women related contents. There is currently fewer than 300 articles related to women with less than 10% female Fulfulde Wikipedia editors. There's no doubt that among the key factors that led to this is the fact that Fula women could be wary of being introduced to participate in activities involving the opposite gender especially when they lack proper knowledge of that which they were introduced to or when they understood men are likely to take greater portion in the activity, this is something inherent and natural to a typical Fula woman, as they are so accultured to shyness and tradition. I took played roles from Welfare Director to Communications and Outreach Officer and other roles in projects organized by Wikimedia Fulfulde Community and have learned about all these from some of the women we reach out to during such activities. This made me to believe that if we can achieve having a women marathon where only women would be trained, then we can be able to change the existing narrative. This is due to the fact that solutions to some of the problems of gender balance related to some communities in Africa can only be achieve when culture and values of the affected communities are clearly put into consideration while bringing Wikimedia awareness. This, I believe, would help us achieve a greater cause in recruited many female contributors for Fulfulde Wikipedia and also help create more women related contents. And we hope to make it a recurrent event that be repeated annually so as to keep this balance that we hope to achieve through this project.

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

I planned to carryout online and offline awareness campaigns amongst women to know about the project and also organize an edit-a-thon/training to train them on how to translated women related contents from other languages (preferably English) to Fulfulde Wikipedia. I will also introduced them to Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons to help them learn how to link the translated article to their respective entities on Wikidata and how to fetch their corresponding images from Commons and insert them to the articles translated.

The activities would go on like this: 1. Preparing list of women related contents for translation to Fulfulde Wikipedia 2. Three days awareness campaign to advocate Fulfulde Wikipedia to Fula women 3. Two days edit-a-thon/workshop: the first workshop would be the introduction to the Wikimedia projects while the second would be introduction to Machine Translations and how it works on Fulfulde Wikipedia. 4. Certification and awards for the participants and introducing them to Wikimedia Fulfulde Community for retention, meet other community members and furtherance of knowledge.
