For the Wikivibrance IYD 2022 in NCPUG we started by recognizing two active Wikimedians in the NCPUG, a male and a female, followed by creating three video that we used in social media and on Wiki, We hold a virtual meeting online to celebrate them and we hold in person event to as well celebrate them.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

We have successfully held a meeting to see the possible solutions on how we can select the most active youth Wikimedians in NCPUG and to celebrate them accordingly, we finally decided to consider their contribution and their participation in NCPUG as the only way to select them.

4. To what extent do you agree with the following statements regarding the work carried out with the support of this Fund? You can choose “not applicable” if your work does not relate to these goals.

Our efforts during the Fund period have helped to...
A. Bring in participants from underrepresented groups Agree
B. Create a more inclusive and connected culture in our community Agree
C. Develop content about underrepresented topics/groups Agree
D. Develop content from underrepresented perspectives Agree
E. Encourage the retention of editors Agree
F. Encourage the retention of organizers Strongly agree

5. Is there anything else you would like to share about how your efforts helped to bring in participants and/or build out content, particularly for underrepresented groups?

Yes we have invited students from Kaduna State Polytechnic to see how NCPUG and the The Wikivibrance team work to appreciate and onboard participants into Wikimedia world, by celebrating their work and contribution in shaping free knowledge sharing around the world.

Part 2: Your main learning[edit]

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

I have learned that we have to engage more youths into the Wikimedia movement to help in contributing to Wikimedia mission as youth have enough time and energy to dedicate, I have seen how youths show interest during the event by participating and showing keen interest in achieving Wikimedia mission.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

Yes something very surprising happened during and after the events, we have created 300 audio files during the training, but unfortunately we couldn’t upload those audio files, because we lost them during conversion, so we have to upload the images we have snapped, for the whole event we are suppose to upload 400 files 100 of whom are images and 300 should be audio files.

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?

Yes we hope to make sure that all recorded audio files shouldn’t get lost during the technical process of conversation, we would implement the use offline application in converting them.

9. Documentation of resources: Use this space to upload any documents that would be useful to share with others (e.g. communications material, training material, presentations).
