- Connect different communities to improve the network especially within the German Wikipedia A+F editors
- Recruit new editors within all languages and backgrounds

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings? Our collaborative project Who writes his_tory? will host several Art+Feminism Edit-a-thons during 2020 and therefore also host a series of trainings for newcomers. So far planned are:
January 28th, Solothurner Filmtage, Solothurn, Switzerland (Dashboard Link)
February 21st - 23rd, Wikimedia DE, Tempelhof, Berlin, Germany (Dashboard Link)
February 27th, Bridge Books, Johannesburg, South Africa (Dashboard Link)
March 15th, Kaskadenkondensator, Basel, Switzerland
April 2nd-4th, Amerika Gedenkbibliothek, Berlin
(more dashboards and updates follow as soon as possible, but all these dates are confirmed)
further Edit-a-thons are planned, but not confirmed yet
Furthermore our collective hosts monthly dinners to discuss future Edit-a-thons and collaborations.
2. How will you let your community know about the event? Please paste links below to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions. We publish each event on different pages which suites each community the most. We are especially pleased that the press department of the 70th Berlin International Film Festival has listened with open ears to our plans: from there, participants of the Edit-a-thon weekend will have the opportunity to participate in women's network meetings of filmmakers in the vicinity of the film festival and to attend selected screenings of films by and for women. We also have to Bloggers who write during our Edit-a-thon about our activities during the Berlinale
For future events we mainly use our Who writes his_tory? newsletter, our FB Group and always the Event-Page of Art+Feminism
3. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Yes, we have several such as Grizma, ImaginaryRoyalty, Myresluger, Elena Patrise, MurielDamiana, Fouadas, Helga Broll.... At each event there is at least one super experienced Editor. But mostly we are at least 3 people helping out. For example at the upcoming Edit-a-thon in Berlin several experienced attendees offered to help beginners. In Berlin supporters are Grizma, Medea7, Elena Patrise 18quirl08, IvaBerlin, Satu Katja. In Switzerland we're also supported by Lantus & Muriel Staub
4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them? Equipment and skills are provided, we also organise extra Laptops and schedule always extra time for introduction and support as well as food and beverages. Furthermore we also try to exchange knowledge within the experienced community to improve our structural influence on Wikipedia DE.
5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)? Who writes his_tory? has a website and a newsletter where we keep in touch with different participants, as well as the dashboard, a slack channel and a Wikipedia Eventpage as tools to keep in touch with the editors.
6. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
Who writes his_tory? startet in 2016 inspired by the international campaign ART+FEMINISM to start editing as a collecitve. With the years the reputation within the art field but also the idea grew to connect more and more people also to gain more structural influence within Wikipedia as the German speaking Wikipedia seems quite restrictive in terms of gender and language.
A first network meeting was born in September 2019 in Hamburg. With our upcoming Edit-a-thon in Berlin in February 2020 the goal is to better connect women* from the German-speaking world who are active in Wikipedia. The Edit-a-thon takes place in cooperation with the worldwide campaign Art+Feminism.
We want to read more about artists, actors, activists, collectives, filmmakers, etc. on Wikipedia and strive for an online language that is feminist, anti-racist and inclusive. With the Berlinale's thematically oriented Edit-a-thon in Berlin, we want to attract new editors to Wikipedia and establish a long-term network and cooperation. All our meetings are open to participants of all genders as long as a respectful and sensitive approach to feminist and diverse issues is maintained. We therefore invite to the opening weekend of the Berlinale 2020 in the rooms of Wikimedia Germany to actively participate in the diversification of Wikipedia within the framework of Art+Feminism.

Impact[edit]
How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:
- Number of participants. each Edit-a-thon has different circumctances, locations and time frames therefore the audience will be different every time. But we have always about 10-30 people present and troughout our conitnuous engagement people follow to different spaces and keep writing. Not everyone works on its own for the first time working with Wikipedia but share a computer.
- Number of new editors. At each event surely 4 new editors, mostly more.
- Number of of articles created or improved. In the last 4 years we hosted about 30 Edit-a-thons. Each time there are in between one to five new articles and at least five improved articles (up to 30)
- Number of follow up events within a broader Art+Feminism Network. Our group hosts Edit-a-thons, performances & discussions regularly since March 2016, always supported and inspired by Art+Feminism worldwide and also in exchange with different Wikipedians worldwide. Who writes his_tory? is meanwhile well known in Switzerland and within different institutions in Germany, Austria, Belgium and South Africa. People follow us on our newsletter, fb page, instagram and of course through ART+FEMINISM.
Resources[edit]
What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding). We get support from Wikimedia DE for the event in Berlin exclusively for the travel expenses. We mainly need support for food and beverages during the three day network meeting. Also for our meetings during the year. As well have some extra money to refund travel expenses as some people travel within different cities by public transport. Especially in Johannesburg we need to provide transportation for the participants.

They're doing great work linking Wikipedia projects between communities, raising awareness on gender inequality through projects such as Unfuk_the_record. - I am currently co-organizing a major event with Elena Patrise in Berlin (Germany) after we met at an Art+Feminism-Edit-a-thon in Hamburg last year. Dashboard Hamburg 2019 It was a great event to encourage closer networking between various feminist groups in german speaking countries which we started then. The aim is to support each other in unsubstantiated deletion discussions, to collaboratively help making WP a more diverse place and to encourage new female* editors to join the WP crowd. Support Endorsed on behalf of Art+Feminism --Siankevans (talk) 15:19, 20 January 2020 (UTC)- Support One thing I particularly like about Who writes his_tory is its focus on improving content systemic bias in DE Wikipedia - on one hand the discussion around this topic is being encourage and awareness is being raised. And on the other hand content is being systematically added, which is making german-speaking Wikipedia so much more diverse.
