We would like to organize seria of edit-a-thons 2020 (4-5 in March, April 2020) about Ukrainian woman artists, feminists and LGBTIQ+ activists (+ together with training about editing materials on Wikimedia).

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

We are planning to organize seria 4-5 editathons (3 hrs each) + before each editathon we plan to organize trainings 90 min

2. How will you let your community know about the event? Please paste links below to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.

1) We'll make Facebook event for each editathon, 2) paid Ads in social media (Fesebook, Instagram), 3) we promote it personally (with printed posters) among local schools and in National University with which we are working for a long time, 4) we'll send release in local media and ask them to help us to share information.

3. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event?

We know Oleh Kushch, username (he is teacher in our city), and we are planning to invite Anton Protsiuk (user:Aced)

4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

We are planing to use spaces and equipment of schools, University and our office. We plan to provide trainings before each edithons to contribute high quality content.

5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

The target group with wich we plan to work are in contact with us at the regular base. So we plan to create Trello sheet to plan our future engagement and to share ideas fo future. We plan that it will be not our only one event and we would like to continue our work in this field.

6. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

We are also working in small towns and villages around our city and we would like to organize edithons for them too.


How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:

  5. Number of repeat participants (for projects that include a series of events) 20


What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding).

As an NGO we have 5 experienced project managers and mentors who can support future editors. We are know who can support us with experienced editors and help us with training. We are deal with schools and university for using their spaces and equipment. Also we are thinking to organize promotional event with Anton Protsiuk to make our initiative more visible.

What resources do you need? For your funding request, list bullet points for each expense and include a total amount.

Food and drinks = 15000 uah (5 events x 20 ppl x 150 uah)

Paid Ads in social media = 1800 uah Promotional materials (stikers, posters) = 1300 uah Travel expences for expert = 800 uah (2 x 400 uah) T-shirts for most active editors = 4800 uah (20 x 240 uah) Pins for participants = 1000 uah (80 x 12,5 uah)
