Project Goal[edit]

Briefly explain what are you trying to accomplish with this project, or what do you expect will change as a result of this grant. Example goals include, "recruit new editors", "add high quality content", or "train existing editors on a specific skill".

  1. Expand network of potential partners
  2. Increase awareness of Wikimedia projects
  3. Recruit new editors
  4. To ensure that content production and consumption in the various Igbo Language platforms of Wikimedia is given front row focus.

Project Plan[edit]

Activities[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing?

  1. Myself and other organizers will be carrying out trainings and workshops in two different organizations
  2. Community outreach and publicity

How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)? Why are you targeting a specific audience?

  • We have already had an offline meeting regarding this with the community.
  • We're targeting a specific audience because this is the first time there will be a Wikimedia training in Enugu State and also the first Igbo Wikipedia training in Lagos State and we intend to start Igbo Wiki Hubs in these states.

What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?

We would have successfully trained at least 10 persons in Enugu State, 10 persons in Lagos State to contribute to the different Wikimedia projects. Also we would have secured one more partnership and added two more Igbo Wikimedians User Group Hubs.

Impact[edit]

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets and feel free to add more specific to your project:

  1. Number of total participants 20
  2. Number of articles created or improved (if applicable) 20
  3. Number of photos uploaded to Wikimedia Commons (if applicable) 20
  4. Number of prospective partnerships - 1
