Goals

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?
It was a learning project for me as an individual as well as a team leader. I did my best to meet the project goals but it was very hard and heavy. I tried to meet the goals for the last 2 years, when I prepared to start this project but I did not get expected success due to the ongoing political situation in Nepal, basically in Province No. 2. I am happy that I am able to manage to reach the partial goals and I am presenting my hard work through this report page.

Overview

• 

The focus of the Provincial Photo walk series is to upload the free license photos of the Nepalese provincial assembly members, Governors, Ministers, and Ministry offices of the Provinces of Nepal. This is an important initiative for the community because it helps us to collaborate with the provincial government authorities and fulfill the requirement of images to the Wikipedia articles in many languages. There are seven provinces in Nepal. The first series of the event will be completed in Province No. 2 capital city Janakpur. This project expected to set the landmark for the community wikipedians to collaborate and help to succeed the project.

Events

With the help of local photographers, we have organized 4 photowalk events at Provincial Assembly House of Province No. 2 and Provincial Ministry Building in Janakpur. We have successfully conducted the photowalk with the help of the Secretary of the House of Province No. 2 and Official photographer team but due to closure of Assembly House, we are unable to snap the photos of all the legislature members of Province No. 2. I tried each and every possible way to get all the photographs but I couldn't manage to get success to reach the target mentioned in Grant application.

Teamwork that helped me to alive this project so far.

• What did not work so well?
  

I experienced that initial research should be done before the project and need a proper connection to the provincial chief minister office. I am still trying to get all those photographs of the legislative members of Province No. 2.

• What would you do differently next time?
  

The most important and necessary thing is to study the house assembly meeting. If there is a continued house meeting, we can go ahead because I think this is a project which can make better relationships between the legislature members and Wikimedians/ Wikimedia Affiliates.
