Project Goal[edit]

  1. Recruit new female editors.
  2. Add content abut women's biographies.
  3. Training of users, with a gender perspective.

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

We are planning to do one editathon that spreads for two days focused on Latin American Women.

2. How will you let your community know about the event? Please paste links below to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.

The Facultad de Arquitectura Diseño y Planeamiento from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario will be in charge of making the call and dissemination among the students and teachers to summon people.

3. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event?

We have strong experience organicing editathons. User:Jaluj, she is the founder of Wikiproyecto:Mujeres in Wikipedia in Spanish, she is sysop in Wikiquote, she is a member of Wikimedia España, Wikimedia Uruguay and a Board Member of Wikimedia Argentina, User:Laura Fiorucci is from Venezuela, administrator in Wikipedia in Spanish for more than eleven years, member of Wikimedia Argentina and Wikimedia España, and me, User:Imoisset cofounder of Wikiproyecto mujeres en la arquitectura in Wikipedia in Spanish.

4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

People will bring their own laptops or netbooks.

5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

Participants continue to work together from the Facebook working group that we have created and the mailing lists. We follow their work through the Wikipedia page of Mujeres Latinoamericanas.

6. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Impact[edit]

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets:

  1. Number of participants (we hope to see at least 20 participants).
  2. Number of new editors (we hope to have at least 10 new editors)
  3. Number of articles created or improved (we hope to have al least 15 new articles created).

Resources[edit]

What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding).

The venue is at FAPYD. The University of Rosario, Argentina, give us the place and the wifi connection. The autorities of the university are organicing the editathon with us. We have founded the Mujeres latinoamericanas en Wikimedia's group.
