We will carry out online edit a thon on Vice Chancellors and Deputy Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities on Wikidata. Nigeria has more than 150 Universities and many of the past and present VCs and DVCs of these universities are either not on Wikidata or have scanty information

Project Goal[edit]

  1. Recruit new editors: we will recruit new editors
  2. Increase skills for existing editors: we will increase the skill of existing editors
  3. Add or improve content on Wiki data: new content will be added and existing ones improved
  4. We will increase participation of editors on wikidata
  5. We will promote the contribution of Nigerian content on Wikidata

I will be organizing series of 5 edit a thon

Whatsapp, face to face discussions, Facebook

3. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event?

Yes i do. I am an experienced editor. other experienced editors will also participate.

4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

most participants are experienced and have laptops. However few participants will work in cyber cafe

5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

through constant discussions and chats both on phone and social media

6. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

the programme will be carried out online.
