Project Goal[edit]

Briefly explain what are you trying to accomplish with this project, or what do you expect will change as a result of this grant. Example goals include, "recruit new editors", "add high quality content", or "train existing editors on a specific skill".

The Wikimedia Ghana User Group is introducing the Wikipedia Education Program to the Ghana School of Law to help students and educators(Lecturers)share free knowledge and for the students to incorporate the English Wikipedia in their research work after the organized program.

Project Plan[edit]

Activities[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. What will you and other organizers spend your time doing?

The program will be carried out at the conference room of the Ghana School of Law where the participants will be taken through the introduction to Wikipedia(English Wikipedia).
Haven done that,we will now proceed to the next phase where we take them through the key features on the Wikipedia page and how it is related to creating and editing articles. After the participants have gotten the concept of how Wikipedia fully functions, the final phase would be administered.
Finally,we will take them through the systematic creation of articles on the Wikipedia page and how to edit the already existing articles.

How will you let others in your community know about your project (please provide links to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions)? Why are you targeting a specific audience?

We would inform the community through the following means:

What will you have done at the end of your project? How will you follow-up with people that are involved with your project?

At the end of the project we would have been able to recruit and train participants to become potential editors and members of the Wikimedia Family in Ghana.
As far as following up on people are concerned we always give people the opportunity to join the group's mailing list and Whatsapp group and participate in all that we do.

Impact[edit]

How will you know if the project is successful and you've met your goals? Please include the following targets and feel free to add more specific to your project:

  1. Number of total participants
  2. Number of articles created or improved (if applicable)
  3. Number of photos uploaded to Wikimedia Commons (if applicable)
  4. Number of photos used on Wikimedia projects (if applicable)
