Project Plan[edit]

Activities[edit]

Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions: On wikipedia articles we have a short description panel which provide short knowledge or brief description of the article before reading, this short description is also used by google knowledge for easy search-ability which is a plus for the community.

On most wikipedia articles there are gaps in relation to short description of most article which is very key and essential. So with a group of volunteers we would be having an edit-a-thon to improve upon the gaps by adding knowledge which would enable readability and help search-ability.List of some of the articles we would be working on is available here

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

We would be have two training (in-person) and a series edit-a-thon.The two day training event is to have a hands-on session on how to create a short description and also improve or edit wikipedia article. After the training we will have a week long (two months) edit-a-thon (thus virtual) , we

would provide participants articles they can work on and also they are also free to work on any article.

2. How will you let your community know about the event? Please paste links below to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.

We would be using a whatsapp group to inform community and individual of interests to get engaged.

3. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event?

Yes we do have experience wikipedian who would be leading this project. They are Pambelle12 & Kaizenify

4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Some of the community members and volunteers have the skills but for newbies we need to organize the training for them to understand whatever we want to achieve

5. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

After the event, participant would be engaged on various activities organized by the team and also the our whatsapp platforms is also there for further question if they don't understand anything.

6. Are you running any in-person events or activities? If so, you will need to complete the steps outlined on the Risk Assessment protocol related to COVID-19. When you have completed these steps, please provide a link to your completed copy of the risk assessment tool below:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1t7hMPpmsQwQERkD0DN5DeY_Rd_7n2UaOFZradzF-gBQ/edit#gid=83886443

Endorsements[edit]

Community members are encouraged to endorse your project request here!

  • I endorse this project because most of the articles on wikipedia would have a short description which would help readers and also enable visibility of an article.Agbleyjill (talk) 23:22, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
