Introduction[edit]

  • Introduce your organization, give some context about it, highlight your strategic plan and some activities to give an overview.

Since 2017, we were supported by Simple APG continuingly enabling the local community in Taiwan to grow rapidly. This year, although our work was impact by the worldwide pandemic, our precaution and the government’s effort allowed us to resume our event under the government regulations after July. Only international projects were still on hold.

For a summary of this year’s projects, our education programs focus on how to cultivate students by enabling them to participate in projects and how teachers evaluate the edits on Wikipedia. As for our GLAM programs, while we cooperate with our partners, we also take the chance to improve some of the documents in Chinese. Moreover for the community projects, we officially announced the “Wikimedia Taiwan community’s Code of Conduct”.

Although with the pandemic, we will still plan for 2021 as the same way as we always did. Based on our existing result, we plan to continue our 2020’s strategic and raise the targets for the next stage. On the other hand, we won’t have any plan for offline international event because of the ongoing pandemic, but to do our best to present Taiwan community to the world.

Additionally, to make our execution more adaptive, while still maintain the 3FTE model, we will take one full time personal out and introduce two part-time into our team. One of them will focus on research and project management, and provide localized research and document construction for global Wikimedia movement, another will be responsible for running the community and education actives, as well as focus on the diversity of Code of Conduct practices and community expansion in Taiwan.

Programs[edit]

According to the code and other regulation, we will record and evaluate the development of Taiwan community, and will provide support or revisit some of the “in-adequate” rules.

To Improve community diversity, in 2020, we invited the Hokkien, Sakizaya, and Seediq communities to the COSCUP to introduce the Wiki community through their mother tongue. This has opened up community exchanges in different languages and this achievement will be continued in 2021. We will focus on the development of the multilingual aspect. Through the meeting, we hope to bring the different communities together and help the community to grow stronger as a whole.

Our goals to improve our community are:

  1. Execute the community code.
  2. Identify the current situation of the community.
  3. Encourage multilingual development in Taiwan Wiki community.

To accomplish the goal, we will:
