Proposed participation

[edit]

I organise school projects for adults the last 3 years. I have two submissions accepted in this informatics conference, where I will be speaking about a) Wiktionary with educator Kostas Skiadopoulos and b) a proposal I formulated with Geraki and submitted to the Ministry of Education.

Goal and expected impact

[edit]

As a result of my talk, everyone in the audience will become aware of the Wikipedia Education Program. It is an effort to encourage more educators and teachers to use Wikipedia in school projects and explain the benefits of it. This is a continuation of last year's effort (see Grants:TPS/Magioladitis/ICT2015/Report) but this time in an even more advanced way since it may end up to a collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

According to the initial schedule, two more educators, who are not connected to the wiki community, will also discuss implementations of Wikipedia sister projects in the class. We also plan to get in contact with them.

Budget breakdown

[edit]
  • Travel (round trip airfare from Corfu to Athens): 190 Euros (approx.)
  • Accommodation: 0 Euros (I have a place to stay overnight)
  • Bus/Taxi tickets: 30 Euros.
  • Registration fees: 160 Euros. (Each submission comes with a 40 Euros fee for each name on the papers.)

Endorsements
