Activities[edit]

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

We will be doing one Photo walk to 3 different sites, one uploading session on the school premises.

The arears we are visiting are;

  1. Ipata market in Ilorin, Kwara state. It is a prominent market in the Ilorin City where a large amount of market women can be seen carrying out a variety of activities. Catalogues of media files can be taken at the location and added to the Wiki commons free knowledge space on working women in Africa.
  2. Oja Oba market, close to the palace of the Emir of Ilorin. Venturing into one of the major food markets would help in capturing the daily commercial activities that the female traders engage in.
  3. Dada pottery in the city of Ilorin. Media captures of the female craftmanship and artisanship at the Dada pottery would play a crucial role in making the knowledge of art and women in Africa readily available. Media from women carrying out commercial variety of activities from various walks of life will be significant in bridging the gender gap and representing African women more broadly.
