Report accepted[edit]

Hi Keilana,

Thank you for submitting this midpoint report. I’m accepting this report today and providing some comments below:

  • In regard to your Summary, and looking ahead to your Final Report, I’m wondering if you’re thinking about quantitative or qualitative indicators you could include to demonstrate your progress with mentorship, videos and outreach? As the first thing your readers see, the Summary is a great place to brag about your successes. For example, I’m curious how many people you’ve mentored, in how many countries? How many videos have been completed? Including these or other specific indicators about your progress is a good way to let your work shine.
  • Congratulations on filming a video series! It’s a significant accomplishment for the first half of your project and I am looking forward to seeing the results when you are finished with production.
  • I’m wondering how you feel you are doing with your remaining goals for this project? Do you think you are on track to hit your targets by the end of the project or do you expect some of those goals will be missed? Any additional support you need? Let me know if you’d like to set up a meeting to discuss this.
  • Thank you for including a learning pattern with this report. It’s a good idea to use it to point people to the Systemic Bias Kit. I would like to see a bit more contextual information and instructions added so an uninitiated reader, with no other knowledge of your project, would be able to understand the opportunity presented by the Systemic Bias Kit. For example, I think adding a link to the Kit would greatly improve the usefulness of this learning pattern.
  • Could you clarify what you mean when you say, “Worked with User:Gretchenmcc on #lingwiki projects using some principles from the kit”? As with the learning pattern, it would be helpful if you could clarify here so that uninitiated readers can track your meaning. Since I’m not sure what this reference means, I imagine other community members who make use of your report may also be unclear.
  • Budget tracking: Please go ahead and update the “Actual Funds Spent” column in your Finances tab. You can use this column has a work in progress where you can state what costs have actually been for each item, and track any over or under-spends there as you go.

Congratulations on your progress to date. Our Grants Administrator will be in touch with you soon to process your second disbursement of funds.
